The Conference convenes top collegiate talent and a vast representation of the insurance industry for three days of intensive programming, featuring professional development a more than 60-exhibitor career fair, and over 400 on-site first round interviews for entry-level positions and internships. In addition, over 25 educational sessions, leadership seminars, and hot topic forums led by industry professionals will be offered to attendees.
Notable industry-leading events will take place at the 2017 Conference:
- For the second year, the GIS Conference will be a host site for the global Dive In Festival, an initiative of Inclusion@Lloyd’s whose aim is to pool resources, widen perspectives, and share best practices in diversity and inclusion to effect change faster. In a collaborative effort between Dive In partners and its own GammaSAID (Solutions for Authenticity, Inclusion, and Diversity) Council, GIS will again present programming that encourages and allows students and partner organizations to engage in this critical dialogue.
- GIS will host the second annual Recruiters Roundtable, assembling recruiters from global and local companies throughout North America to review the summary results of an expansive GIS student survey delving into the student perspective on the recruiting process. In addition to an overview of the survey results, there will be discussions around industry best practices, idea sharing amongst peers, and the opportunity to hear directly from GIS students and alumni on the overall recruiting process.
- Keynote addresses, educational sessions, and leadership seminars presented by representatives from GIS’s Sustaining Partners and Conference Sponsors.
- In partnership with the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), a student-led community service project is planned in conjunction with the Conference.
GIS is committed to developing and sustaining a robust collegiate talent pipeline and connecting students who are interested in pursuing careers in insurance to opportunities across the industry. There are many ways for companies to engage directly with GIS and its chapters, from Conference sponsorship, career fair participation, and the Sustaining Partners Program to the GIS Career Center and opportunities directly with chapters.
